We are a contributing school in the village of Te Kauwhata and pride ourselves on our place within the community and the sense of 'whanau' and 'belonging' that we strongly believe in and demonstrate.
During 2011 our school charter was revised and as a result of this process our new vision and values were developed and continue to be 'grown' by staff, students and our valued community.
During 2013 we opened our brand new garden area the 'Kids Patch' as well as launching our very own radio station - 'Listen Up' 107.2fm. In 2014 we were awarded our EnviroSchool's Silver award.
At the end of 2015 we were very proud to have constructed our Waharoa. The Waharoa was designed and carved by local Whanau and community and represents and embraces all that our school stands for.
TKP is a progressive school, embracing e-Learning with a range of modern devices as integral tools for supporting and enhancing quality teaching and learning in this 21st Century.
As a staff we are a 'team' of learners who, like our students, learn from each other and welcome all opportunities to continue to grow our roles and competencies in these 'exponential' times.
Te Kauwhata Primary School is a great place to be!
Thank you, we welcome visits to our school.

The church is officially the 'Waerenga and Taniwha Undenominational War Memorial Church', and it is used for services by various denominations. The church building was begun in 1926 and the church was opened in 1928. There are 44 names on the 'Great War' Roll of Honour Memorial tablet, of which 14 are listed as killed. In 1951 a Second World War Roll of Honour Memorial tablet was added. It has 57 names, of which 7 are listed as killed. In 1962 a modest hall was added on the site.
